Description
This is a very, very nice mellophone. Made in 1934 during the Great Depression this Mellophone features a satin silver finish, with a burnished(gloss) silver engraving and trim, and features a more uncommon gold burnished bell(with real gold plating). The dents in the bell and bell tail have been mostly removed with minor imperfections and the lead pipe was replaced sometime in the past. The valves do show wear, but with regular oiling(thicker oil also helps but is not necessary) it works flawlessly. It has a very nice sound to it. This horn is 89 years old as of 2023 and for its age is in outstanding condition(even has the original lyre screw). It is important to note that the finish is completely original, this horn has never been overhauled. Unfortunately, the case has not survived over the years and was lost. The Eb extension is stuck, but will not cost much to be removed if desired.Contact me for further questions.
